The story behind my Emerald Green & Teal Geometric Journal Page - where bold geometry meets the simplicity of a blank page.
Namaste, kind reader! 💙💚
Welcome back to another entry of Behind the Designs!
As I continue building Sparks & Noises, I've been exploring how Indian-inspired geometric artwork can become part of our everyday routines.
From decorative patterns to printable planners, each product has taught me something new about balancing aesthetics with functionality.
But this time, I wanted to revisit something simple.
What if a blank page could feel inspiring before you even started writing?
And that's how my Emerald Green & Teal Geometric Journal Page came to life.
01 | Finding Beauty in Geometry
For this design, I moved away from the flowing, ornamental borders of my earlier journal page and experimented with something bolder.
Angular shapes, repeating triangles and a mosaic-like arrangement became the foundation of the design.
Using emerald green, teal and cobalt blue, I created a geometric border that feels energetic and contemporary while continuing the visual language of Sparks & Noises.
The idea was simple: let the geometry bring personality to the page without taking away its purpose.
02 | When Design Makes Room for Thoughts
One of the most interesting parts of designing a printable journal page is deciding what not to fill.
I wanted the border to be expressive, but the centre to remain open.
That contrast became the heart of this design.
The colourful geometric frame adds visual interest, while the spacious white centre leaves room for journaling, writing letters, sketching or simply putting thoughts onto paper.
Because sometimes, good design isn't about adding more. It's about knowing where to leave space.
03 | A Little Creativity in Everyday Life
As a design student, I've started appreciating how even the smallest everyday objects can influence our experiences.
A journal page might seem ordinary, but the right layout can make sitting down to write feel a little more inviting.
This design is available as a printable A4 journal page in high-resolution 300 DPI PNG format, ready to download and print whenever you need a fresh page.
Whether it's for creative journaling, gratitude writing, personal notes or scrapbooking, I wanted it to feel like a small piece of art you can actually use.
04 | One Design Language, New Possibilities
With each new product, I'm discovering that consistency doesn't mean creating the same thing repeatedly.
My earlier journal page explored intricate ornamentation.
This one explores angular geometry, contrast and negative space.
Different approaches, but the same intention: bringing art and practicality together.
And that's what makes this creative journey exciting for me.
